It’s been about 2 years since we moved into our home. My daughter was just about walking at that time and now my baby is three. I always knew I wanted to make her room into something special but I never had the time to dedicate to my own home. Between juggling the design studio, a new baby and a traveling hubby, time was just never on my side.
When the virus hit the US this past March and we began spending a lot more time at home, I all of a sudden had a lot more time on my hands. I realized that I needed to tackle my home once and for all and decided to take on each room as a form of therapy to distract myself from all the mayhem happening in the world. The first room I decided to tackle was my daughters room. She needed something to boost her spirit during this time and so did I.
I began putting up the wall-covering and the wall art and instantly her room began to take shape. You can see the photo below for the before toddler room.

I knew I wanted to do something fun and whimsical as she loves flamingos and all of the colours of the rainbow.
From the before photo you can tell I reused a few of her pieces. I just needed to rework it in a way to make it feel “new” to her. I shifted a few items around and got a few simple accessories from Target and instantly her room began take shape. The light colors and pattern play gave this room all the life and whimsy I wanted it to have and she was so happy with how it turned out!
This room refresh didn’t cost a lot as I just re-used items I already owned and got some new accessories and re-arranged the furniture placement.
I wanted to show that even with a smaller budget and a little creativity you could create the sweetest little room for your little ones. If you need help pulling your little ones room together, I would be so delighted to help you do so. My creativity is a never-ending stream and I simply adore doing kids rooms.
